The sun was out again for the Grangemouth Tourney at Little Kerse.

Another great day and well done to Bunny, Davie J and Wulf for another great tournament.

Stenhousemuir won the Final against EK Rolls Royce. Lots of good football on display today

and some stunning goals into the bargain. The after match eats was as per usual - top notch.

The banter was also top drawer. Some characters especially amongst the EK Rolls Royce set up.

All the best to all teams involved today for the season ahead.

Well done Stenhousemuir on winning the trophy.

                               Grangemouth tournament (Ellwyn trophy)

This year's tournament saw Grangemouth playing host to East Kilbride RR, Bishopton

and Stenhousemuir. A somewhat understrength Bishopton, bolstered by 'guest' players

ran Stenhousemuir close in their first game. Stenhousemuir dominated for most of the

game eventually Jenkins scoring in the last few minutes to ensure that they progressed

to meet East Kilbride in the final. Grangemouth were caught cold by East Kilbride who

dominated with some excellent play to build up a 2-0 lead. East Kilbride who had

brought a large squad of players with them blending youth and experience made a few

changes at half time. Grangemouth, who were also missing key players dominated in the

second half but failed to find the target . In the 3rd. place playoff Grangemouth dominated

and goals from McQuade and Connor (2) saw them defeat Bishopton 3-1.

In the final which was an excellent advert for both clubs , play was even with chances at

both ends before Todd shot home after a break from half way. East Kilbride were not to

be outdone and Welsh scored an excellent equaliser cooly slotting the ball home after a

strong run into the box. Again East Kilbride made changes at half time and the strength

and experience of Stenhousemuir told in the end as goals from Comrie, Strathie,

Robertson and Jenkins saw them complete an excellent 5-1 victory.

Stenhousemuir captain receives Ellwyn Troph by gerrymr1807.
